Hi — I'm Darian.

RAD Programmer is the Delphi tooling brand of Ideas Awakened, Inc. In practice, that means me: Darian Miller, an Embarcadero MVP who has been shipping software since the MS-DOS days — through the Windows desktop era, client/server, and into today's mix of web, mobile, and cloud — with Delphi as my primary tool for most of that ride, and still having fun with it.

Why RAD Programmer exists

Delphi codebases live a long time — decades, routinely — and the developers who maintain them deserve tooling built with respect for that source. That's the entire premise here: tools that are provably safe before they are powerful, that run fully offline because your code is nobody else's business, and that you buy once instead of renting — no subscriptions, no phone-home, no surprises.

radFormatter is the first of these tools. More are in development, for code analysis, exploration, and automation.

Around the community

If you've been around the Delphi world, we may have already crossed paths: I write about Delphi development on my blog at ideasawakened.com, and you'll find me on my Delphi Developer Group on Telegram — with over 1,700 members and is a great place to ask or answer Delphi questions in a live-chat setting.

On GitHub, I publish open source at various places including:

We can also connect on LinkedIn or if you like old-school message boards, then I highly recommend Delphi-PRAXiS, the International Developer Community.

The company

Ideas Awakened, Inc. is the U.S. company behind the RAD Programmer brand — the legal entity you'll see on invoices, licenses, and the fine print. Following an exit from the private-equity purchase at my previous software company, Ideas Awakened is securely funded and building for the long term — which is exactly what you want to hear from someone selling perpetual licenses.
